Center-Based ABA Therapy
At Zephyr Behavioral Healthcare, we provide compassionate, evidence-based Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) services for young children with developmental disabilities and neurodevelopmental conditions.
Our goal is to help each child develop meaningful communication, independence, social relationships, emotional regulation, daily living skills, and the confidence to participate more fully in everyday life in an environment that feels safe, engaging, and joyful.
Our approach combines the science of behavior analysis with relationship-based, child-centered care that respects each child's unique strengths, interests, and developmental journey. Every treatment plan is individualized to support each child's goals, strengths, and areas of need.
Who we serve
Zephyr provides ABA services for young children with developmental disabilities and neurodevelopmental conditions who demonstrate a medical need for Applied Behavior Analysis services.
Most of the children we serve are between 2 and 6 years of age, although services may be appropriate for some children outside this age range based on individual clinical needs.
Eligibility for services is determined through a comprehensive clinical assessment, review of medical necessity, and confirmation that our services are appropriate to meet the child's individual needs.

Every child is unique, and many benefit from the expertise of multiple professionals. With parent or guardian consent, we partner closely with each child's broader care team—including physicians, speech-language pathologists, occupational therapists, physical therapists, educators, and other providers—to promote coordinated care, consistent support across settings, and meaningful progress toward each child's individualized goals.
Every child receives an individualized assessment to determine whether ABA services are medically necessary and clinically appropriate.

Comprehensive ABA Therapy
Our comprehensive ABA program supports the whole child by embedding individualized learning opportunities throughout the day. Treatment addresses multiple areas of development, including communication, social relationships, emotional regulation, independence, adaptive functioning, and daily living skills through a coordinated, individualized ABA treatment plan.
Focused ABA Therapy
Focused ABA provides individualized intervention for children who have specific, medically necessary treatment goals that are appropriate for an ABA-based approach. Rather than addressing development across multiple domains, treatment concentrates on targeted areas of need while other aspects of the child's development are supported through their existing services, educational program, natural environment, or do not currently require ABA intervention.
Behavioral Assessment
Our comprehensive behavioral assessment identifies each child's strengths, areas of need, and the factors that influence learning and behavior. Through caregiver interviews, standardized assessments, direct observation, and clinical analysis, we develop individualized recommendations that guide treatment planning and determine the most appropriate ABA service model. Additional assessment tools, including a Functional Behavior Assessment (FBA), are used when clinically appropriate.
Parent and Caregiver Training
Parent and caregiver training is an essential part of every child's treatment. We partner with families to build confidence in supporting skill development, responding to challenging behaviors, and using individualized strategies during everyday routines. Coaching is tailored to each family's goals and may be provided in our center or in the home when clinically appropriate to promote consistency across environments.
Care Coordination
We work closely with families and other providers to promote coordinated, consistent care across settings. With parent or guardian consent, we collaborate with physicians, schools, therapists, and other members of the child's care team to share relevant information, support treatment goals, and help create a seamless experience for each child and family.
Transition Support
We help children and families prepare for important transitions throughout their ABA journey. Through individualized planning, skill development, and collaboration with caregivers and other providers, we support successful transitions to new educational settings, changes in services, and next steps in care while promoting continuity and confidence across environments.
Where services are provided
Zephyr provides ABA services primarily in our center-based program in Hatfield, Massachusetts. Our center offers a rich learning environment where children receive individualized support while practicing skills across daily routines, peer interactions, group activities, outdoor exploration, and other meaningful experiences.
Research supports center-based ABA as an effective service-delivery model that provides frequent opportunities to build and generalize skills across people, activities, and environments.
When clinically relevant and identified within the child's individualized treatment plan, services may also be provided in community settings to promote the use of skills in everyday environments.
Parent and caregiver training and coaching may be provided in the home when clinically relevant, helping families implement strategies within their daily routines.
Scope of Services
To help families determine whether Zephyr is the right fit, it's important to understand the scope of our services.
Zephyr is not:

A preschool or kindergarten

A public or private school

A substitute for special education services

A residential treatment program

An inpatient or hospital-based program

A crisis stabilization program

A provider of occupational, physical, or speech-language therapy (although we frequently collaborate with these providers)

A provider of medical, psychiatric, or medication management services
If a child's needs fall outside the scope of our services, we will work with the family to identify appropriate community resources and coordinate care whenever possible.
